Local Leaders of Education (LLE)

Local Leaders of Education (LLE's) are Headteachers with at least three years' experience and who are leading a school that has been judged at least Good.  The LLE's will work to support Headteachers and leaders in other schools by providing high level coaching, mentoring and support, drawing on their knowledge and expertise.

Meet our LLE's


Richard Potter 

Richard is the Headteacher of Home Farm Primary School in Colchester. He has been teaching in Essex for 20 years, with over 14 of those years being in leadership in education across the entire primary phase, in many different schools. He is a partnership Headteacher and delivers training for NEETSA and CTTC as well as being the chairperson of The Colchester Schools Consortium and a lead Headteacher in the Essex School-Led Improvement System, run by the Educational Development Trust. Richard has supported schools in and around Colchester through peer review, coaching, pupil outcome studies, research-led teaching and leadership programmes and in developing a pupil voice for Colchester’s schools. Richard is committed to effective practice for teachers and leaders, rigorous outcomes for pupils and a holistic curriculum for everyone in a school to develop memorable moments in, what he believes is, the best job around.
